Scripture: Daniel 6: 10-13
Introduction
- Do you pray before taking a meal?
- Consecration has 4 basic meanings
-
qâdash (kaw-dash')
- to be clean, dedicate, holy, proclaim, purify, sanctify
-
mâlê' (maw-lay') mâlâ' (maw-law')
- to fill or, be at an end, fulness, wholly
-
nâzar (naw-zar')
- to hold aloof, that is, abstain (from food and drink, from impurity, and even from divine worship; specifically, to set apart (to sacred purposes)
-
châram (khaw-ram')
- to seclude; to devote to religious uses; physically and reflexively to be blunt, utterly (slay, make away)
Make up your mind. Dare to stand firm to the test.
A. The temptations or the Threats are REAL
- Consecration is an ongoing process. (A Decision I have endorsed)
- Focus is on the Almighty God, not the situation
B. The God we serve, He is one TRUE God and Almighty
- The devil is determined, so we better be more determined! (A Determination I must endure)
- Our God is Almighty, Sovereign and Holy. Therefore, we must stay holy! (A Discipline I must practice)
Conclusion
- 1 Timothy 5:17
"Let the elders who rule well be considered worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in preaching and teaching."
