Introduction

How then are we to live a consecrated life? It begins right now.
I Peter 1:13-16
- The key verse to this passage and the following is this: “Be holy because I am holy”. It speaks of a holy life and a holy life is a consecrated life.
A. A Matter of the Mind
“Therefore , prepare your minds for actions!”
“A consecrated life begins with the mind. ”

B. A Matter of our Spirit
“Be self control, set your hope fully on the grace to be given you...”
- What does it mean to live “soberly”?
- Why do we need such self control or soberness of spirit?
- How are we to be sober?
a. Having a hope that is lasting and eternal
b. Leaning on the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ
c. Being alert of the work of the evil one
d. Being conscious of pleasing our Lord Jesus Christ
C. A Matter of our Heart
“As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had......”
- Desires are birthed from the heart.
- What then should our heart’s desire be? - “Be Holy because I am holy.”
